The Cake Smash is a popular photoshoot that marks turning one, a huge milestone for your baby. The first birthday session is one of the most important photography sessions to shoot. As a lifestyle photographer, I believe everything is more beautiful when it is simple and raw, and I am so blessed to work with clients who loves candid photos too. This mom chose to capture her son’s cake smash at Mint Room Studios in The Lounge set which has a neutral, bohemian feel – my favourite!
After baby’s individual portion of milestone images, we then focus on the cake smash aspect of your session. I provide timeless and vintage inspired props for this session, but also ensure baby is the focus of our time together, too. I do not like distracting aspects in the images so props are kept to a minimum so baby will be the shining star. Examples of props I may bring as things like an antique high chair, quilt and crate.
