Celebrate your little one’s first year millstone with a cake smash photo shoot!
One of the most popular sessions for parents is cake smash sessions to document their baby when they turn one. Every parent would like to make the first birthday for their baby so unique and memorable. Nothing is better to celebrate the 1st birthday with family photos and then some fun baby pictures.
Why are they so enjoyable? Well firstly, when your child approaches their first birthday, it’s a huge and emotional milestone for us as parents. It’s exciting, fun and an emotional time! Our little babies have turned ONE!
From discovering you’re expecting, feeling those tiny kicks, holding them for the first time – and then spending the last 12 months helping them turn into the little person they are now. Those are but a few reasons why we love to photograph these sessions! And did we mention that we include family portraits in your one hour session?
As a lifestyle photographer, I believe everything is more beautiful when it is simple and raw, and I am so blessed to work with clients who loves candid photos too. This mom chose to capture her twins cake smash at Mint Room Studios in their Festive Kitchen holiday set to capture both their first Christmas and the twins first birthday milestone as a family of four.
After baby’s individual portion of milestone images, we then focus on the cake smash aspect of your session. I provide timeless and vintage inspired props for this session, but also ensure baby is the focus of our time together, too. I do not like distracting aspects in the images so props are kept to a minimum so baby will be the shining star. Examples of props I may bring as things like an antique high chair, quilt and crate.
