Where to do your studio session with me? Anchor Studio offers 3 types of sessions for family, maternity and newborn, baby photo shoots – in your cozy home, outdoors as well as in studio sessions located in a beautiful natural light studio in The Junction. With the weather in Toronto we are limited with year round sessions so opting for a studio session is more ideal during the winter months. Below are images of sessions in all three location options to give you an idea of what to expect to cater to the vision you want me to capture of your family
FAVOURITE OUTDOOR LOCATIONS
I have a handful of four to five go-to locations for all my outdoor maternity and family sessions. They are chosen for very specific reasons ranging from open fields to beaches. Why are they my favourites? Because they are often quiet, have a variety of hidden track, playful areas to keep kids engaged and have fun, but most importantly because the light falls beautifully for early morning or sunset sessions.

NEWBORN SESSIONS IN YOUR COZY HOME
I encourage families with toddlers to have their session in their home so that the kids can be themselves and play in their space. If you love your decor and have worked hard to make your home a beautiful place for your family to grow, then an in-home session would be the perfect way to document this season in your family’s life. I always bring a few props with me and a flash to achieve the lighting results for that beautiful, airy look that is consistent with my work.
MINT ROOM STUDIO SESSIONS
Mint Room Studio is our ideal, go-to studio for creating beautiful light and airy portraits. You can choose from 6 beautiful, furnished rooms with classical, white and light wood furniture to darker and moodier studios. Portraits made here consistently have the bright, natural light feel and can accommodate bigger families. Throughout the year, certain rooms are decorated with different themes to celebrate special occasions from Valentine’s Day to Christmas and Holiday portraits. It’s also perfect for maternity and family sessions offering both a moody and classical feel.
LOCATIONS FOR CAKE SMASH SESSIONS
Cake smash and baby sessions are held at Mint Room Studios in The Junction as well as outdoors during warmer weather. Cake Smash sessions are best done when your little one is between 11-12 months old (when they are sitting unassisted but not yet walking) and will go for approximately 1 hour. We start out cake smash sessions with a portrait session of your little one, this includes one set up with clothing provided. After this, we will bring the cake in and start our smash. We take the hard work out of it for you by including a simple, naked cake delivered to us.
